Jessica Alba has topped many a best dressed list for her casual, cool style.  Often fashion magazines and blogs will feature stars that dress impeccably but whose choices a “normal” person could almost never replicate (certainly not without a signficant chunk of cash!).  The appeal of Jessica Alba is that her style is accessible yet always unique.  She finds a way to make an ordinary outfit a little more fun, a little more colourful, and a little more chic.

Dressed Up Denim

Jeans have become a huge staple in my closet now that my workplace has adopted a casual dress code.  Often jeans will immediately dress down an outfit thereby making it a little less special, so I have been looking for ways to still feel dressed up while wearing jeans.  Whether you can dress casual all week like me at work or only on the weekends at home, you can still find outfit inspiration via Jean Queen Jessica Alba.  Adding a fitted blazer and heels is all you really need to recreate this look for yourself.  Once you have this formula down, experiment with different coloured blazers, printed blouses and patterned jeans.

Casual and Chic

The right accessories can also bring an ordinary pair of jeans from casual to chic. Whether basic black satchel, colour-blocked tote or leopard printed convertible bag, carrying a fabulous handbag will elevate your look immediately.  If handbags aren’t your thing, try a slouchy knit sweater, cargo coat or even sunglasses to add that “chic” factor.  Wide-legged denim is also another option if you are tired of your skinnies and want something more unique than just a pair of boot cut jeans.

Relaxed Evening Wear

Bringing casual style from day to night is all about choosing items by their material.  Skip basics such as cotton, linens or knits and instead go for luxe leathers, soft satin and  sexy sequins.  Add a fancy clutch and voilà!  Relaxed evening wear at it’s finest, à la Jessica Alba.
